In 1989 2 Live Crew released their 3rd album As Nasty As They Wanna Be, featuring seminal porn rap classic “Me So Horny” and getting them arrested on obscenity charges after an investigation by Florida gov. Bob Martinez.
In 1990 they followed As Nasty As They Wanna Be with Banned In The USA, the first album to carry the black and white Parental Advisory sticker which is so common today.
Banned in the USA carried the track “Fuck Martinez”, a call and response number, with the main aim of telling Bob Martinez what they thought of him.
It’s now 30 years later and there’s someone else that needs to be told to get fucked. The Tories. Yeah, they do actually, don’t they?
On Friday 6th Dec, in the Start and Garter in St. Pauls, Bristol we recorded the response and filmed the video, it was a lot of fun. The tracks not perfect but then again, what is?
